H2S Removal System – Organic

The Organic H2S removal system is a totally green process that is based on bacteria converting the H2S in the Biogas to a soluble form thus removing it from the stream which can then be sent further either for power generation or to CBG production after removing the CO2.

It can treat and remove high H2S concentrations in biogas with very low power consumption.

The Process is carried out in a Scrubber column that has special media which produces a very high surface area so that the H2S removal efficiency is enhanced. The scrubbing liquid used is the recovered filtrate from the solid-liquid separator that separates the bio manure solids and the liquid portion.

Nutrients are added to the scrubbing liquid for the survival of the bacterial colonies and to ensure their healthy growth. The pH and temperature of the scrubbing liquid is regularly monitored and maintained at a pre-determined level.

Care is taken so that the air doesn’t mix with the Biogas and dilutes it. The treated biogas has to be dehumidified to remove the moisture that the biogas picks up.

The scrubbing column is constructed in MS/FRP such that the acidic liquid does not effect it.

One big advantage of this process is that the resultant liquid after the removal of the H2S can be sold and used as a Liquid fertilizer and is very useful for certain soils.
